High School, Early Release, and Bubble Wrap!

Thursday the high school kids got out of school at 10:20.  I took them over to our grade school to help me pass out the cookie dough from the fund raiser.   There was a giant pile of bubble wrap left from the packaging when we were done!  SWEET!  Imagine the fun we could have with that!  We took it home with us and they took turns wrapping their self in it and playing bumper people!  It was so funny!  They were wrapped so tight that they couldn't bend, so they would just fall straight down, and have to be lifted up!  It got really hot being wrapped up so they then went outside and played in the rain!

3 Years of Happiness!

Three years ago Amanda was looking online at puppies and was determined that we were going to get one.  She convinced me to take her to the mall pet store to just see what "real" puppies looked like.  So off to the mall Amanda and I went.  We spent an hour or so just looking at and holding $2400 puppies.  (Way over priced!)  We then left the mall and while driving the outer loop of Arrowhead mall, we saw her!  We saw a lady selling these cute little fluffy puppies.  Amanda begged me to stop.  I finally gave into her pleads, but told her I was not getting out of the car, and I was NOT buying a puppy!  Amanda went and picked up the cutest puppy I had ever seen and brought her over to the car.  She again pleaded with me, this time to P L E A S E buy this puppy!  My heart was melting, and I think I secretly wanted her just as bad!  The lady told Amanda that she was selling the puppies for $250, way cheaper than the $2400 puppies we had just been looking at.  Between the two of us, and the cash we had in our purses,
we had exactly $250!   We knew it was meant to be!  We named her Kiwi Cute King!
This picture was taken the day we bought her, she was the same height as our base boards!

Amanda and Addy had a little 3rd Birthday celebration with Kiwi yesterday!

Friends and Family Home Evening

I have a childhood memory of going Christmas Caroling with friends from church and having hot chocolate and donuts after.  So, last night for Family Home Evening we invited a few other families to join us for a decorated trailer ride to sing carols, and drive around looking at Christmas light displays.  Then of course we enjoyed hot chocolate and donuts!  We had a great time, and were happy in the end that no one fell off the trailer!

Thanksgiving Day Run!

Amanda mentioned to me that her friend Mallory was running in the Thanksgiving Day Run at the Peoria Sports Complex and she wanted to do it with her.  I then found out that our friends, the Matthews were also going to run!  So we signed up!  Addy and Tanner ran the 1 mile, and Justin, Amanda, and I all ran the 5K (3.2 miles).  Alyssa was planning to run, but woke up not feeling well.  It worked out well though, because we then had a photographer and coat holder!  It was 46 degrees out and the wind was blowing, it was freezing!!!!  It was so much fun.  I am definitely planning to do this again!

The Family!!

I did it!!!  My first race since grade school! It was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again!

A Clean Sweep!!!!

On Saturday Addy did it!!! She had a goal to win first place in all of her Cross Country meets this year, and then take first place at the district meet.  Check!
Addy with her team mates.  Our school took first, second, and third place.  Making it possible for them to win first place as a team!!!  Way to go Addy and the 5th and 6th grade girls from Marshall Ranch!!!

Harvest Dance

On the day of Addy's 12th birthday, the Mutual activity was the annual Stake Harvest Dance.  Addy wanted to go to the dance, and then celebrate her birthday another night!  So Alyssa and Amanda helped her get ready for her first dance, make up and all!  Alyssa even had her friend Scott come over and help teach Addy how to slow dance, it was really cute, I wish I would have taken a picture!  They all had a great time, and Addy was even asked to dance 3 times!

                                                My 3 beautiful girls!
                                         Amanda, Kerry, Emily, and Alyssa
Addy with her new clothes and make up!

Bug-A-Roo turns 12!!!!

I know,  I can't believe it either, my little Bug-A-Roo is now 12!  Some of the things that Addy loves are:  Doing the Best at everything she does, she is very competitive in athletics and school!  Running, playing the piano, taking care of what ever pet she has at the time (right now she has hamsters that she got for her birthday), painting her fingernails and toenails, curling her hair, dressing in cute clothes, swimming, eating spaghetti, spending time with her friends, helping around the house.  We love Addy, and feel lucky to have her in our family!

Halloween 2010

Because Halloween fell on Sunday this year, all of our trick-or-treating was done at the Church Trunk-r-Treat.  Alyssa and her friend Emily passed out candy from our car, while Amanda did a little activity for the little kids next to our car.  It was as FUN as always!

Homecoming Dance 2010

Because Alyssa and Amanda are not yet 16, and unable to date, they went to the Cactus Homecoming dance with their friends.  It is so FUN getting them all dressed up and decked out!

Cross Country Meets

Addy and Tanner are off to a good start running on the Marshall Ranch Cross Country team again this.  We have had 2 meets and Addy took first place both times!  Way to go Addybug!!!  Tanner is also a great runner, he took 13th place in the first meet, and 11th place in the 2nd meet.  I love that they run, it is so exciting to watch them give it their ALL!

Vintage Garden Decor

My GREAT friend Bethany Matthews and I were asked by the principal of our kids school to organize and decorate for the Peoria Unified School District Principals/PTO dinner that was held at our school. He told us to go all out, and that we had zero, yes I said zero dollars budgeted for decor!

Bethany got right to work, looking for decorating ideas. She came up with a vintage garden idea. She made all of the topiary trees on the tables, and had her girls help her make white tissue paper poofs! We then took a trip over to Darla's house (Justin's mom) to see what she had that we could borrow! And of course Darla loaded us up! I then got another great friend, Karen Leon, to help me sew all of the table toppers. I really am grateful for the people in my life that are so willing to help.

On September 15th this is what we were able to create with everything that we gathered. (Bethany completely un-decorated her house and brought it all with her to the school!)

I think that it turned out AMAZING!!!! THANKS TO BETHANY!!!!! I am lucky to have such a great friend!

The AWESOME 6th graders that helped set up, serve, and clean up! They were all incredible!
